Solo Founder Automation (Playbook)

A phased guide to automating every aspect of a solo startup — from coding to marketing and customer success.

Overview

This playbook provides a full-phased automation system for solo entrepreneurs. It details how to set up a “virtual office” where AI agents perform the roles of a full startup team.

Phased Automation System

Phase 1: Product Development (The “Vibe Coding” Phase)

  • Primary Tool: Cursor + Bolt.new.
  • Workflow: Use natural language to describe features. Let the Composer in Cursor scaffold the logic while Bolt.new handles the immediate preview and deployment of UI.
  • Automation: Set up repowise to pack your entire context for LLM reasoning when building complex features.

Phase 2: Operations & Finance

  • Primary Tool: Midday.
  • Automation: Connect your bank accounts and Stripe. Use the Midday AI to automate reconciliations and tax reporting.
  • Goal: Zero-touch accounting.

Phase 3: Growth & Marketing

  • Primary Tool: CrewAI.
  • Automation: Create a “Content Crew” consisting of a Researcher, Writer, and Editor agent. Provide them with your product’s RSS feed to generate social media updates automatically.
  • Workflow: Agents post drafts to a Discord channel for your final “Vibe Check” before going live.

Phase 4: Customer Success

  • Primary Tool: Claude-Skills + Dify.
  • Automation: Build an autonomous helpdesk agent that can read your codebase and documentation to solve technical user queries in real-time.

Setup & Use Guide

  1. Initialize the Stack: Deploy the Next.js SaaS Starter.
  2. Setup the Agents: Pull the CrewAI templates for Marketing and Sales.
  3. Connect the Brain: Use Upstash for persistent agent memory across all phases.
  4. Monitor: Use the AIDevtools (from Midday) to debug agent reasoning loops.

Use Cases

  • Validating MVPs: Launch a landing page with automated waitlist management in 4 hours.
  • Running a micro-SaaS: Handle 1000+ users with zero support staff.
  • Content Factories: Generate high-quality technical blogs based on your GitHub commits.
